How we rate creator services
Some of our guides rate paid services - DMCA takedowns, link-in-bio tools, discovery channels. These are the rules those ratings follow, written down so you can hold a list to them: where the facts come from, what a score means, and what we refuse to do for a ranking.
01Facts come from the vendor, dated
Every price, plan, and policy claim in a rated list is checked against the service's own published pages - pricing pages, terms, community standards - not against reviews of reviews. Each list shows the date its claims were last verified, and a fact we could not verify first-hand is either attributed to its source or left out.
02Every entry gets real cons
A ranking where the downsides are decoration is an ad. Every entry we list carries at least one honest con, and the cons are the kind that would actually change a decision: what the entry price really covers, which features sit on the expensive tier, where a policy has burned creators before.
03Scores are editorial, and we say so
The score out of ten is our judgment of fit for one specific reader: a solo creator without an agency. It weighs what you get before paying, what the realistic monthly cost is for one person, how far coverage reaches, and how much risk the fine print carries. The facts under each score stand on their own; the score is how we would weigh them.
04No pay-to-play, no affiliate links
Nobody can buy a position in these lists, and the outbound links carry no affiliate or tracking parameters - a claim you can check by reading any of them.
05Rankings use plain list markup only
Our shortlists are visible text plus a simple ItemList schema. We never emit review-star structured data (Review or AggregateRating) - Google's guidelines rightly treat that markup as spam when a site applies it to rankings it writes itself, and we agree with them.
Spotted something wrong?
Pricing changes and policies move. If a fact in any rated list is out of date, tell us at support@modelapps.xyz and we'll re-verify it against the vendor's pages and update the list - the checked date on each list moves when we do.
